Get Started

  • Create a Profile in the Global Learning Portal

Your first step to studying abroad or away is to create a profile in the Global Learning Portal. Your profile will help you navigate your study abroad or away journey and assist your advisor in determining what resources will best support you. The profile covers:

    • Types of Programs
    • How to Apply & Deadlines
    • Academics
    • How Financial Aid Works
    • Scholarships
    • Student Identity
    • Resources
    • Next Steps

    Explore Programs

With hundreds of unique global learning programs to choose from, we encourage you to consider your personal, academic, and professional priorities when selecting a program. Navigate to the Program Explorer,* a self-guided tool to help you:

    • Discover the type of experience you want to have
    • Define your goals
    • Get connected with resources to ease your decision-making process

The Program Explorer is a great place to start if you’re not quite sure what you’d like to accomplish through global learning, if you’re feeling overwhelmed with options, or if you just need a dedicated space to brainstorm ideas and create a wishlist.

*in order to access the Program Explorer, you must be signed in to the Global Learning Portal and have completed your Profile

    Research Funding Opportunities

There are many opportunities to fund your global learning program, including financial aid and scholarships. If you receive financial aid, you can request an estimate for a financial aid package for a program. We also strongly encourage you to identify scholarships you're eligible for, such as UCEAP scholarships and the Gilman International Scholarship for Pell Grant recipients, among many other scholarships that we recommend.
