Global Learning Updates

The Division of Global Engagement is closely monitoring the evolving global coronavirus (COVID-19) situation, utilizing travel warnings and advisories from the U.S. Department of State and U.S. Center for Disease Control (CDC) as well as guidance and directives from the UC Office of the President. For a short video from the UC Global Learning Directors please see "Study Abroad in the Time of COVID19" produced by UC San Diego.

Student Experiences

Many UC Santa Cruz students were affected by the onset of COVID-19 while studying abroad during winter and spring quarters. Navigating the unprecedented circumstances brought about by the coronavirus, from leaving their host countries due to program suspensions and border closures to undergoing a 14-day quarantine upon arrival to the U.S., required flexibility and personal strength. Students have reflected on their experiences through real, genuine, unscripted storytelling. We hope these testimonials humanize students' study abroad experiences during COVID-19.

UC Santa Cruz Global Learning is here to support students wherever they are. If you have any questions, be sure to reach out to us.
