Global Learning Staff

Global Learning provides students with the opportunity to graduate with global experience, promotes an internationalized campus that cultivates an understanding of our diverse global community, and encourages students to engage with other cultures to broaden their perspective and involvement in the world.

As a part of Global Engagement, Global Learning aims to inspire and facilitate global learning, research, and partnerships at UC Santa Cruz.

Global Learning Commitment

Through international academic experiences, the University of California, Santa Cruz prides itself on inspiring students to explore and transform their lives, the University of California, and the world.  Below are some organizations that UCSC Global Learning partners with as our commitment to creating a more inclusive and holistic study abroad/away experience.

Generation Study Abroad

Generation Study Abroad is an initiative, launched in 2014, by the Institute of International Education (IIE) to mobilize resources and commitments with the goal of doubling the number of U.S. students studying abroad by the end of the decade.

Diversity Abroad Network

The Diversity Abroad Network’s goal is to ensure that students from diverse economic, educational, ethnic and social backgrounds are aware, have equal access and take advantage of the benefits and opportunities afforded through global education exchanges.

The Forum on Education Abroad

The Forum on Education Abroad develops and disseminates comprehensive Standards of Good Practice for the field of education abroad. It promotes best practices and excellence in curricular design, engages in data collection and research, conducts program assessment and quality improvement, and advocates on behalf of its members and the field of education abroad. The Forum serves institutions and organizations that sponsor and support education abroad programs for students enrolled at U.S. colleges and universities. The Forum also collaborates with international member institutions and organizations to identify and facilitate best practices and standards for education abroad.
