How to Apply (UCEAP)

Important Application Steps: Read all of the important steps below before beginning this process. Set up your account in the UCSC Global Learning Portal and review the UCEAP application deadlines and program capacity*. Questions?   1. Complete the Global Learning Approval Form (GLAF) and share the form with your advisors (Major, Minor, and College):
    • Click the “Share” button at the top right-hand corner of the GLAF Google sheet and go to General Access > “Anyone with the link” and change the “Viewer” access to “Editor” access to ensure that your advisors can edit it.
    • Make an appointment with your advisors to review the form or send it to them directly via email.
    • You can begin this step as soon as you have selected your program so that it is ready ahead of the application portals opening. Note: The Global Learning Approval Form can take 1-2 weeks to complete depending on how quickly your advisors can provide your approval, so plan ahead!
  2. Submit the UCEAP Application in the UCEAP Portal
    • Applications for UCEAP 2024-2025 Summer, Fall, and Academic Year programs are now closed.
    • Applications for UCEAP 2025 Winter, Spring, and Calendar Year programs will open in the UCEAP Portal on November 1, 2023, with a limited number of programs opening on April 15, 2024.
  3. After you receive notification from your advisors (Major, Minor, and College) that the Global Learning Approval Form (GLAF) is signed and complete, submit the UCEAP Nomination Form in the UCSC Global Learning Portal by searching for your program in the portal, and applying.
    • The UCEAP Nomination Form is a UCSC-specific campus requirement. 
    • This form opens:
      • Summer, Fall, and Academic Year programs are now closed
      • Winter, Spring, and Calendar Year programs on April 15th at 12:00 p.m.
      • As part of this form, you will need to share your signed and completed Global Learning Approval Form (GLAF) with approval from your Major, Minor, and College advisors. You’ll share the link to the GLAF in the “Eligibility and Academic Planning” section of your UCEAP Nomination Form in the UCSC Global Learning Portal.

*Apply soon for Limited Capacity programs which close when capacity is met. Do not submit the UCEAP Nomination Form in the Global Learning Portal after the deadline. Late registrations will be declined and nomination fees are non-refundable.
